History

              King and I Thai Cuisine has proudly served authentic Thai food to Thai food lovers in the Des Moines areas since April 2002.  In September 2004, the restaurant moved from its original location in Clive, IA to its present location. 

              The owner, Ormsin or “Mao”, began her restaurant career in 1993 in Seattle, WA by opening a Thai restaurant named Tuk Tuk Thai Cuisine.  Her business was so successful that by the end of 5th year the restaurant was in 3 locations in the greater Seattle area.

              She and her husband relocated to Iowa from Seattle in July 1998 due to her husband’s illness so he could be closer to his family.
